An impressive "Obi(帯)" with purple curves rippling at regular intervals called "tatewaku (立涌)" and paulownia, whichi is "Kiri(桐)" flowers drawn within them.
It is said to be a pattern of rising steam implying there comes a sign of improvements at right time.
In ancient times, paulownia flowers, along with chrysanthemums, were a noble pattern that only the imperial family could use n old days. It is a kimono pattern that is widely used and still represents high class.mood.

一定の間隔で波打つ紫の曲線(立涌)と、その中に描かれた桐の花が印象的な帯。
吉兆とされる立ち上る蒸気を文様化したものとされ、運気が盛んで上昇の兆しがあることを意味しています。
桐の花は古くは菊とともに皇族にだけ許された高貴な文様でした。一般に広まった今も格の高さを表す着物柄です
